Collaborative Biodiversa+ Project developing a new paradigm for marine biodiversity monitoring by transforming fishing fleets into a distributed environmental observation network. By integrating eDNA metabarcoding, satellite data, and artificial intelligence models, the project aims to generate large-scale datasets to identify biodiversity hotspots and support faster and more effective management and conservation decisions. SEAWATCH introduces a participatory and transdisciplinary approach in which research, fisheries, and governance collaborate to build more accessible, scalable, and impact-oriented monitoring systems.
